Human Resources Manager / Dept. Head (National) Post Date: 25 May 09

The HR Manager main responsibility is for leading, managing and
administering the Human Resource activities of the organization,
providing the President Director with information which will ensure HR
management function activities meet corporate goals. Customer
relationship Management will also form part of the role for the
organization.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

*
Leading all business units HR department in performing HR
functions and activities.
*
Develop clear and well-defined HR strategies and measurable
objectives in line with the business strategy as part of the HR
Management team.
*
HR Planning: recruitment & selections, training & development,
leadership and career development, Performance management, succession
planning and employee retention.
*
Compensation & Benefit: job analysis, salary & grading
structure, market survey & benchmark analysis, accommodation &
facilities.
*
Employee: providing professional advises to the management on HR
related issues, establish sound policies & procedures, enforcing
company ethics, company rules & regulations, process employee
separations.
*
Providing Government relations & affairs : HR related licenses &
permits, Labour law & regulations consultation, HR information system
*
Participate in the communications team for SMC within the region
*
Contribute to the creation of the business strategy as a member
of the management team
*
Support PD in the process of engaging employees around vision,
strategy, objectives and values to ensure that all employees are clear
on their contribution to the overall business objectives.
*
Proactively initiate change and support PD in other change initiatives.
*
Coach Project Managers in how to deal with the different phases
of change and employee reactions.
*
Provide Project Managers with effective techniques for
attracting, retaining and developing the right people for Sandvik for
today and future needs
*
Build employee commitment together with the Project Managers by
addressing motivational issues
*
Ensure that the HR work is handled according to the Sandvik core
values and Code of Conduct
*
Advise PD on new HR research and trends
*
Adhere to the policies, procedures and tools delivered by the
global processes in order to maintain a consistent global approach to
people management
*
Responsibly for all HR databases and ensuring that any point in
time they contain accurate and up to-date information.

YOUR PROFILE

*
Graduate Min S1 Law, Management, Psychology coupled with further
qualification CPHR.
*
Minimum of 3 year's as an HR Manager and management experience.
*
Exposure to the Mining, Construction or Engineering industries
would be beneficial.
*
High level of HR analysis skills.
*
Previous experience in providing HR advice to a senior management team
*
Strategic planning and operations experience, Contract
management experience
*
Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to
negotiate at a senior level.
*
"Hands on" approach to the management of the HR function.
*
